2. Major cool down on Saturday into Sunday with humidities
recovering especially in the Sierra Nevada.

.DISCUSSION...
Warm temperatures continue to dominate today as the weak ridge
of high pressure continues to remain in our area. However,
temperatures drop slightly but winds increase as the ridge moves
away with a deep trough sliding in. This trough is bringing
strong winds to the San Joaquin Valley and the Mojave Slopes and
Desert. Thursday also brings an elevated fire risk especially
for the West Side Hills from the increasing winds, highs near
the triple digits, and the low humidities. Saturday also brings
a fire risk due to the winds but the humidities are forecast to
be higher and temperatures much cooler.
A High Wind Warning has been issued for the Mojave
Slopes and a Wind Advisory for the Mojave Desert from 5 PM
Thursday through 2 AM Sunday due to this trough as there is a 30
to 90 percent chance of wind gusts up to 60 mph during this
stretch. Winds will also pick up on Saturday for the Valley
with cooler temperatures in the low to mid 80s. Winds decrease
to begin Monday with a slow warmup into next week.
